Anyone know why Orange have dropped the Z1010? I was looking forward
to one of the in April!

I'll have to wait and see what's round the corner...

Z800 seems to have been shown at 3GSM in Cannes this week. That's the
generic version of the V800.

wonder what the issues are with the 1010? I've had one (from HK) for
around 6 months and I love it, it replaced the Moto A835 I had on '3'
and does a great job, good signal - way better than moto, the mp3
player is truly fabulous and it works on my 'wired' hca20 car kit
very well indeed, BT performance is good too  in fact I can't fault it
- all of a mystery to me why it took so long to arrive in the UK and
then was dropped.

See KEvin's post in this thread for explanation!

Glad to hear about the HCA20 as I have the same one, with advanced
music mute - does the MP£ play through the car speakers or its own??

Anyway - having see the V800 -eagerly awaiting the Z800i - looks FAR
better - see SE website for more details.

though the car speakers, though in practice the sampling rate for mp3
is (on my phone anyway) limited to 128/s anything more and i get
clicks and dropout, but 128 is pretty good if not quite cd standards.
which begs the obvious question, when is someone gonna make a car hifi
that you can just plug your 'pendrive' into and play your mp3's?
unless that's been made already?

Z1010 has been dropped because of performance issues with UK network. Also
failed performance tests for 3 so they drpped from thier range before it was
even launched.
3 expect Z800 to be avilable "this quarter"

Thanks for the info.

Had a look at the V800 yesterday and quite like it, though hate the
Vodaphone crippling!

The generic Z800i looks good and I guess I'll wait to see if it
appears on Orange "this quarter". My renewal date is 19 April so I
could hope that it may appear before then?? :-)
