I've never had battery problems. I dock mine in the charger as soon as I
get home and use my Jabra headset to talk. I keep Bluetooth on all the
time. When I use it out during the day, it rarely gets below half power.
But if the battery indicator goes down to 50% after a half day's usage,
that's poor battery capacity imho. The standby time is supposed to be 300
hours (almost two weeks) according to the data sheet. I have a K700i myself,
and put it in the charger every night, and compared to other phones I have
owned, which I charged about once a week, the batteery capacity is not very
impressing on the K700. I have heard rumours though, that the battery
indicator displays different levels depending on which firmware version that
is installed, so it might be that the battery really is not half-empty, it's
just the firmware controlling the indicator that says so. On the K700, the
phone is still functioning when the battry indicator shows just one tiny
1-pixel wide red stripe, other phones I have owned turned themselves off
when the battery indicator went below half the scale. That might have been
during the old NiCd-battery days though.

Well, try playing the mp3 player all day, surfing the net and gabbing on
the phone. Plus I keep the light on. Granted, it rarely goes to 50%, but
it can happen. I guess my point was, if you keep it charged overnight,
you're never likely to have any problems.

Yes, I agree that the way the phone is used nowadays is different from how
it was before, now it's used not only for talking with people at other
locations, but listening to the radio and mp3 player, using the calendar and
other useful tools, surfing the internet and playing java games, etc. but
even though my K700 has never died due to battery drain, I still think that
it's battery capacity is somewhat too small compared with other models with
similar functionality. Considering all the new ways the phone is supposed to
be used, I think that the designers could have given it a battery with a
somewhat longer lifetime. I've seen ads for non-original batteries with the
capacity of 1000 mAh instead of the original 700, so it is possible,
technically. Otherwise, the K700 is a great phone, the best I ever had.

But the phone is almost like a mini-PDA .... designed to be docked regularly. That's what I do to keep my calendar, contacts sync'd. So docking=charge = no issues here. I've had no problem with it for weekends on our boat with BT on and normal call use. But it needs a drink (charge) upon returning Sunday evening for sure before the upcoming business use week.
I don't think it's marketed to be a charge once every two week type device. If that's what your needs are then you will be disappointed.

i use this phone the same way, this phone should have a 1000mah battery,
One should be made available..

the K700 does not introduce a lot of new features compared to older SE
phones like the T68i or the T610.
And these easily lived a week or so without recharge.
But battery reliability was not the only disappointment of the K700i.
Mine was 3 times in service within the first 3 months so O2 was so
kind to offer me an exchange. I live with an K750i since then without
any of the problems (well, the battery still doesn't live a week, but
to be honest, the older phones were not used as a walkman this often
... and it still lasts 2 or 3 times longer than the K700)
Just my two pence.
Sascha
