Cingular and whoever else is going to relase this phone i.e. T-Mobile
need to hurry up. I'm getting sick of waiting around. It's almost to
the point where I'm debating buying a K800 but then I have to
sacrifiece the use of various services.
At this point I don't see why they didn't just release this phone as a
quad-band phone and saved us the trouble of having to pick one as a
world phone and one as a US phone.
For those unclear what I'm talking about. The K790 is designed for the
US and has been enabled with GSM 850/1800/1900 (Tri-Band). The
K800i/K790i which in only diffrent in that it has a VGA camera and
supports GSM 900/1800/1900 (Tri-Band). Granted I don't know how much
more a quad band chip would cost compared to a tri-band I don't see
why they didn't just find a nice happy middle ground.
Anyone know any release dates for the K790?

Well, no, that's the K790a, GSM 850/1800/1900 tri-band
and for most other areas K790i, GSM 900/1800/1900 tri-band
and about K800i, UMTS and GSM900/1800/1900 quad-band

They all use the very same camera type 3.2 Mpixels, autofocus.
K800i _IS_ quad-band!
