hi there
i've been a happy Fido customer for about five years...
over the last few weeks, i've noticed that my phone has been showing weak
signals in areas that traditionally used to give me strong signals. in
fact, i've pulled the phone out of my pocket a couple times this week to
find my phone displaying "Emergency Only", which is what happens when it
can't find its home network.
even my neighborhood, queen/roncesvalles, used to be four bars outside my
house... now it struggles for two.
anyone else finding low signals around toronto? i don't think my phone is
dying... (t28w)... its unlocked and rogers sims get better network signals.
thanks

I'm having same problems (at dufferin north of queen), were probably using
the same tower at King/Tyndall (near dufferin) most the time..i have signal
but can't receive calls on some days or everyone is choppy as hell..signal
has jumped alot while talking on phone like at dufferin/king. I'm going to
call fido again tomorrow for the 10th time, as its annoying for me and my
friends in this area who have a fido phone, and my father who uses it for
business.

It must be because of the new CityFido! Similar problems occured in
Vancouver when CityFido was launched in October. But Fido was quick to
fix those areas that were reported to have problems. Call Fido (611 on
your handset) and tell them what kind of problems you encounter and
areas where you encounter them.

Hi there!
It sounds to me like it's just gowing pains with City Fido in Toronto. It
sucks, I know, but rest assured, if it's any like Vancouver, it will get
better before long.
I signed up for City Fido in Vancouver after it has been available for a
month or two. When I first signed up it was extremely frustrating! countless
calls that simple would not go through, calls routinely goiing straight into
my voicemail without my phone even ringing (despite the fact that I was in a
strong signal area), and so on.
However after a couple of months, everything has been brought up to par, and
I no longer experience these problems. I expect the same will happen in
Toronto.
