I have been a fido customer for 2 yrs. When I subsribed they required a $250
security deposit (Even though I own 2 houses) I switched to Bell and havew
been trying since January to get my security deposit back. They keep saying
that they are either processing it or that the check is in the mail, but I
still haven't seen a check. Has anyone else had this problem?

I can't speak to Fido's practices, but with TELUS you can get them to
credit it to your bill, in which case it shows up virtually instantly.
This might be a better route to go.

Threaten legal action and they ought to oblige your request fairly
quickly. But be prepared to back it up if they balk...
I recommend sending a registered letter to their main office with your
request and history of the ordeal. In writing, give them 30 days to
comply, and explain that if they do not, then you will take them to
court (small claims court).
Considering the cost of corporate lawyers, they should be sending you
your cheque soon.
Hope that helps,
Chris.

Credit it to your bill is not the same as mail you a check :)
I think Fido deposit is bill credit as well.

Correct -- Although Fido would be more likely to mail you a cheque then
a check.
However, my suggestion was an alternate solution to requesting a cheque.
If you're a current customer, either one will resolve the problem, and
getting them to issue a bill credit will typically resolve the problem
instantly rather then waiting a couple weeks before you can determine
that the rep failed to mail the cheque.
It also reduces the odds of a Canada Post failure since you skip Canada
Post completely.

Why would they mail a cheque THEN a check? Fido would be more likely
to mail a cheque THAN a check.
