Just wondering, flashed my unlocked V551 to latest software version, and now
i got FIDO back on my screen and in my network list, instead of rogers.
During the spring, "Rogers" replaced "Fido" appeared on my V400 as the
network, and they said it was normal.

like i said, just wondering whats happening, and how can they manipulate our
hardware like that.

It just means that the latest software lists CAN 072 as "Fido" instead
of "Rogers".

There is no more a FIDO GSM network operating. The towers all announce
themselves as CAN 072 (Rogers).

Fido fakes a Fido network by programming their phones to pretend they
are on Fido when in fact they are on Rogers.

'Modern phones have a database of world GSM networks which contains the
network code and a network name.

When you flashed your phone, it gave you phone an updated database which
listed CAN 72 as "Fido" instead of "Rogers".

Microcell's network was 302 37

Roger's network is 302 72

If you go into your phone and list possible networks (if your phone has
that ability), you may find that they tricked your phone into thinkking
302 72 is "Fido".
