Hi.  In Canada, i believe it's possible to carry a cell number from one
provider to another.  However, is it possible to transfer a land line
number to a cellular carrier; from Telus (BC) to Fido (BC)?

thanks,
wilson.

It was possible in cities served by the City-Fido service. The setup fee
included the number portability thing to move your landline number to Fido.

When Rogers cannabalised City-Fido, I am not sure if number portability
survived. Not sure if the "City Fido" service is even sold anymore (it
was down to a simple offering of a fixed number of minutes per month).

Spoke to a 4 legged furry rep today. She was not even aware of number
portability that was available with City Fido. To her, it was a simple
750 minute package. (Obviously, she hasn't worked at Fido for very long).
