I SHOULD....
Visit the guy in town who will unlock my phone for $20
I SHOULD
Try one of those $10 unlocking services over the net

But I am stubborn..

I got a nice T720 minus the rogers SIM card it should have.

I bought a USB cable and hooked it to my WinME PC

I went nuts on p2p and grabbed every bit of software I could find that
had MOTOROLA on it..

What do I do now?

I really want to know how to do this myself,  get it working with my
FIDO pay as I go acct SIM card.

Then upload all kinds of silly games to it, use it as an organizer,
whatever..

But I cant get the %^$#&#&%# cable to do anything with it..

Please post tips

I dont want to start up an unlocking business.. I just want the
satisfaction of doing my own phone.

There are a lot of things you can do to mod the phone as you'll learnn
from the modding sites. However, getting the code for the subsidy lock
is not one of them. If the guy in town can do it for $20 bucks, pay him
the money and smile. If you try and screw up 5 times the phone will be a
doorstop.

the T720 is a very sensitive phone for flashing and unlocking..
i maganged to unlock one by doing the engeneering flash, but then it was on
the wrong band and it wouldnt work anymore.
another one wouldnt take the flash and then it wouldnt turn back on..

just take it to someone that has a smart-clip and let them do it.. its
safer..
if you  live in washington state, i have one, let me know.
