Just unlocked my phone which supports WAP/GPRS/EDGE 850. I entered in
the Access Point settings but can not get on to the WAP-internet.

Can you get online with Fido on pay-as-you-go service?

Yes, Fido prepaid allows WAP. But WAP only.

use google on this group to look for GPRS settings to make sure you got
your settings right.

You MAY also have to call Fido to ensure your account has been set to
authorize WAP access.

Yes, WAP and POP3 email on GPRS, paying the same rate per Kbyte as
postpaid (no longer pay-by-the-minute for GPRS on prepaid).

Fido has not enabled GPRS on all prepaid accounts, although you'll get
the runaround about it if you call and talk to a CSR. I spoke to two
who both insisted that there was no need to check, because for sure
GPRS was enabled on all prepaid accounts. Except mine, apparently.

I suggest that you go in to a Fido store, have them swap their test SIM
with the one in your phone and verify that GPRS works in your phone
with their SIM and not vice-versa, then have them call in to tech
support and insist that they check if GPRS is enabled for your account.
