i've noticed rogers advertising the nokia 3300, the phone that has a full
thumb keyboard, and the screen in the centre of the phone with a different
orientation.
is it possible to get this phone unlocked and then use it on fido?
interestingly, on parts of nokia's website, they seem to show a different
phone than the one rogers is advertising.  have a look at:
http://www.nokia.com/support/tutorials/3300/english/index.html
you'll notice the phone does not have the qwerty thumb keyboard but has a
circular keypad on one side and 0-9 plus a few others on the other side.

Go to Nokia Canada at http://www.nokia.ca/

It is quite usual to have slightly different models in different countries,
even US/Canada.

I did go to Nokia's Canada site.
Look at:
http://www.nokia.ca/english/products/3300.asp
then click on the interactive tutorial link, on the right hand side.  It's a
different phone.

The tutorial redirects to Nokia USA at nokia.com :)

Actually, that's the global (European?) website. The USA website
is http://www.nokiausa.com/
