Hi.  can anybody advise if bell/telus/virgin/president's choice
mobile/solo/koodo/rogers have detailed call forwarding available?

as most of us know Fido's call forwarding options drastically changed
sometime around the new year.  i did not receive any notice of such a
change... which upsets me greatly...

previously fido allowed people to use detailed call forwarding or disable
all call forwarding.

i used the detailed call fowarding quite extensivley (unreachable to
voicemail, no answer to home, and busy to reject).

fido changed it to forward to one number.  no exceptions.  no detailed cfwd
options, no cancel-all-fwd.  no notice to customers.

Well they did give me several notices.  I am not particularly happy
about the CF changes, but there is at least one good point:  no
long-distance when your incoming call goes to voice-mail while roaming.

i too have tried the manual codes to setup call forwarding.  they don't
work.  according to fido's CSR, the "service must be forwarded to
something. PERIOD."

it'd be nice if they let us determine the number of seconds before
unanswered calls get forwarded.  but i suppose that would constitute being
customer focused, which is not what the "New Fido" is about.

Oh yeah, has anybody also noticed that the voicemail greeting message
option has been changed.  no longer can we record a temporary/special
greeting.  now i'll have to spend 20-30 recording attempts to re-record a
standard greeting after each time i setup a temporary greeting message.

can't wait for the new cell providers to come to town... hopefully the
credit crunch won't delay their arrival.

It will definitely delay any rollouts of new towers, although if they're
just renting tower access from the existing carriers then it might not
slow anything down.

So just forward the calls to Fido CSR :-D.

Have you tried the GSM standard codes?

I have no idea if Fido supports them, as I have all forwarding
disabled.
