I'm trying to connect to my Ericsson T310 using infrared, so I can send out
E-mails.
The problem I'm having is that I don't seem to be able to send AT commands
to the phone, even though a connection between my infrared device and the
mobile has been established.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
The question I have is that the phone is on the Fido Service, and it says
that I need to type "mail email@domain.net (Subject) Body" (without the
quotes), then set the phone number as 3436.  Is this the same body and phone
number when sending an SMS using the AT commands?  I know on the Rogers
network you can set the phone number to all 0's then put the email address
as the first thing in the body.

Might help if you tell use WHAT you are trying to connect to the T310 with.
I've done it with both PCs and PPCs with no problems. TTYL

Oh sorry, it's an 8051 microcontroller board.  So I can't use any
windows/linux drivers.  I have an infrared device that makes the connection,
and I'm able to see a RING in Hyperterminal when I call the phone, but the
AT commands just won't go through.

Well, then you are probably a little beyond the scope of this news group.

However, I'm assuming you've got an iRDA stack in the IR device you are
using? If so it sounds like you can receive but not send to the phone. I'd
look into why you can't send. Try associating your hardware with a PC and
see if it can send to it. It's possible you simply haven't set a line the
right way (enable send, ready to send or that sort of thing, which depends
on your module). TTYL

hey, thanks a bunch.
There is an IrDA stack on the IR device, that communicates at the IrCOMM
level.
I ran a few tests on different IR devices, on different computers, and it
turns out the IR device I need to use doesn't send properly.
Appreciate your asisstance though.  Thanks again.
