Does fido (Vancouver) have firmware for 6310i? I'm looking for upgrade to
V5.50 or higher.

Do you mean the 6340i ? Because Fido never carried the 6310i.

Maybe he go the 6310i from somewhere else. He doesn't actually
say he got it from fido.

That's correct. The hardware was not from Fido. Fido is Nokia authorized.
Does Fido flash 6310i devices? The software/firmware is freely available,
just the cable (and some knowledge) is required.

Fido does not support the Nokia 6310i. You'd have to get the firmware
updated through a shop that could do the update or send it to Nokia
Canada.
