Connecting T68 to Laptop via Bluetooth

Hi everyone,

Can someone look over my proposed idea on connecting my T68 (T68m I
believe, but BT enabled nevertheless) to my IBM T-Series Notebook?

The notebook does not have a built in BT configuration, so I think I
will need to use a USB Bluetooth Dongle. Any recommendations on what
type of dongle to use?

I would like to use this connection primarily for editing Contacts
within my T68 and on the SIM card as well as synchronize calendar
events.

My question is, is the above description adequate to perform the
functions I want?

And what applicable software would I have to use to set up a
connection between the mobile and the notebook?

Thank you very much for your help.

John

Hi John,

I'd suggest you go download the Sony Ericsson Synchronisation
application at http://www.sonyericsson.com/fun/.

As for the way of connecting your phone to your laptop, I'd personnaly
patate use the infrared port of your laptop, if it does have one. It
would be fast enough for the kind of work you need to do and it would
eliminate the need of buying another accessory.

Hope this helps,

Dave.

i strongly concur - i go IR to my laptop/Ericsson phone.  bluetooth is only
really desirable if your phone is on one side of the room/desk, and your
laptop on the other.

Thank you for the suggestions Dave & Good Man.

I have configured my laptop to use the built in IRda to communicate
with my T68, and the synchronization of phone book contacts has been
excellent!

Now my next question is, is there any third party software that will
allow you to manage SMS from your laptop?

Thanks again~
