Looking for a cheap phone that will work in West Africa.  I believe
that use the 900 frequency.  Don't need a fancy browser, trimode or
colour screen.

Have a T200 but have not been able to get it unlocked and need a phone
in the next few days.

Anyone have one for sale that they don't want an arm and a leg for?
Will even settle for an unlocked T200 if the price is right.

Thanks,

Inno D.

Go to Pacific Mall (Steeles + Kennedy) and get it unlocked, cheap.

Pacific Mall, Steeeles and Kennedy, $30 to unlock. Got my T200 unlocked
there and it worked fine in Europe. I can sell you the phone if you REALLY
are having trouble getting your unlocked. TTYL

One attempt was made to unlock it but it failed.  The unlocker got
"communication error" and couldn't do the unlock.

I had asked Fido to unlock it when I bought it originally, and they
did do a partial unlock but not for the SIM.  I think 2 of the 4 locks
are open if I recall.  The unlocker thought they might have screwed
something up, making it difficult to SIM-unlock.  I went back to Fido
today and tried to get them to fix the communication error without
telling them that I wanted to unlock the phone and got a very
unhelpful techie who seemed to work very hard at being unhelpful.

Any ideas out there?  Every time I drive out to 905 it costs me a
couple of hours of my time so don't want any more wasted trips.

Thanks to all,

Inno

Which place did you try to get it unlocked?

The "two locks open" is normal, Fido didn't do anything extra. TTYL

Actually this is common. I had exact same problem with one blue T200. You
just need to keep trying. It's not a phone problem. It will work. Black T200
was unlocked faster then you can say FIDO:-)

Good news!  Did another drive up to 905 country and this time it
unlocked right away!

Thanks to Waldo at Communications Center, Pacific Mall, near northeast
corner.  $20, 5 minutes.
