I was quite surprised when it says on the box that the T310's standby
time is 14 days and 7 hours talk time. After going having already
charged it the first time for 24 hours (after discharging the battery
first since there was some power in it) and then 2 more times for 4
hours (after discharging it also) I still only get a meager 3-4 days
standby before I must charge again. I'm charging the phone while it is
turned off.
Does anyone else get only 3-4 days of standby with their phone or is
something wrong with my battery? I'm not a heavy user. Only make about
20mn calls a day.

Take advertised standby claims with a grain of salt. Your times are normal.

Standby and talk times claimed by manufacturers don't have any basis
in the real world. Perhaps you'd get great standby time if you camped
under a cellular base station and *never* made *any* calls at all.
Even then you probably wouldn't get whatever ideal they tested the
phone with. Some phones are better engineered than others and thusly
will have better battery performance than others. I've had phones
fitted with super-duper aftermarket batteries and even with the
supposed high capacity batteries the battery life was dismal. OTOH
I've had batteries in other models from the same manufacturer that had
incredible battery life. I think it's a combination of battery
conditioning, battery design and phone design that determines how good
or bad the battery life will be. It's also likely too that smaller
sized batteries will not get as good battery life as larger batteries.
Also technology used determines somewhat how the battery's longevity
will do. TDMA and GSM batteries tend to last longer than CDMA
batteries and AMPS batteries don't last long at all.
