Hello, I cancelled my service cuz I wont be needing it for the next 3
months.
I wont be in the country and I already have another phone in the other
country.
When I come back 3-6 months would fido take me as new customer if I decide
to come back and give me a good deal on a phone?
thanks

I would recommend that you change your plan to the $10 plan, prepay it for
those 3 months, and when you return, you put your plan back up to what you
want. This way, you keep the sim card, and more importantly, you keep yur
history with Fido (when it comes to getting deals on new phones, it counts).
Remember that if your cancel, your sim car is invalidated and you need to buy
a new one for $25.

I was previously a FIDO customer years ago. I just subscribed again.
The minimum wage earner told me that I am not a new customer because I
had FIDO 3 years ago ie, cancelled 3 years ago, but he would honour
the new subscriber offer as a "good will gesture". I almost told him
to shove it up his a.s, but I didn't.

Why didn't you tell him to? That would have been an amusing sight.
Just not in front of children.

Yes, you can do that. You can unsubscribe a line today and then activate a
new line tomorrow. However, you can't do this for too many times as Fido
tracks this kind of activity. You can be bad listed on their system because
of that. Having said that, unless you have a big phone bill every month,
most of the time, you can get a phone cheaper at new activation then through
hardware upgrade.

who cares about Fido's corporate opinion? you can get a new
activation even if you are a current custimer. i just did.
nothing to it except to find the right kiosk. pacific mall
and 1st markham place are good places to start in toronto.
the kiosks at the fancy malls won't do it.
