been a fido subscriber for a couple of years now and i just received a v60i
in the mail (ordered it friday) for $5... threaten to quit and maybe they'll
throw it in .. just be sure to get on the line with someone from the
cancellations department.

oh and i was wondering if anyone knows where to find FREE monophonic cell
phone rings (i.e. for the v60i) .. not necessarily downloadable, as im
perfectly capable of programming the tunes in myself .. i just need the
tunes!

thanks

did they offer you the phone so cheap? please do tell.

They've got a retention credit calculated on how much years you've been with
them, how well you paid your account in the past, etc. This represents how
much they want to keep you as a customer. It tells the retention departement
how much they can give away so you stay with Fido.

Hence, not anybody that will complain and threaten to quit will get the same
stuff in return ;-)

Tommy.

I got it for 0$.  I originally thought I was paying $30 for it, because
that's what they charges my credit card when I ordered the phone.  When I
got my bill, the $30 showed up as a credit.  They've been making tons of
mistakes with this account from the word go, but that's one mistake I
liked...
