hey.
i've been looking all over the place for an answer to this quesiton and i
hope its not right under my nose..

so whenever i try and launch the web browser in my v60i, i get a "data
packeting not currently available" message or something to that effect ...
when i go into the settings, i've noticed that all the dns/etc. settings
aren't filled in..

do i simply need to fill in these numbers to be able to browse via v60i or
do i need to activate some sort of service with fido?

thanks!

If your phone was purchased from Fido (i.e. a Fido-branded handset), then
the settings are already in your phone.  Chances are, GPRS was not activated
on your account at the time of activation.  A quick call to customer service
should resolve this issue.

Good luck!

yup! that got it going..

now the question is: whats the best deal in terms of KB? i just browsed
around for like 5 minutes and apparently downloaded over 70kb ($1.40!!) ..
im assuming however that they only charge for Received data, not total data
transmission.

also, anyone got some good WAP sites? :)
im dissapointed that with this v60i i have potential for Java apps but I
haven't been able to find any, anywhere.. maybe im just not looking in the
right places. any help would be appreciated in terms of Java games that i
can download ;-)

thanks!

Nope, they charge for total data transmitted. They've simply made it to
expensive to be at all useful. TTYL

that really blows!!!
i just signed up for the $5/500kb package ... i figure its better than
denying that im going to use it while on a road trip coming up and i'd
rather save the $10 or so..

argh! when will they learn that it would be more profitable to make it free
(or minimal monthly charge)??

does microcell itself for some reason get charged for data transmission??
