I picked up a used A56 the other day. I tried setting a PIN but the phone
wanted me to enter a code. I assume a PIN was previously set but it was
turned off. I sent an email to the seller asking him about it, but I wonder
if a Fido tech would be able to reset the PIN for me. I only have one more
attempt left at getting the old PIN correct and then I don't know if the
phone becomes trash or what.
Don't ask why or how...Just try the following two numbers: 00000 or 12345.
Don't try more than three times...It will lock the phone.

Chances are the PIN will be 3436 (FIDO), but if not, waste all your
attempts, until it finally asks you for a PUK code. Fido has this code,
which is based upon your SIM card number. Just make sure that you have the
account information handy.
Good luck!
