Hi:
I'm thinking of switching to Fido and was wondering what the best plan they
offer right now is, & how much unlimited evenings & weekends cost?
I have a unlocked T68i I currently use with Rogers Pay As You Go, will I see
better or worse performance with the T68i on Fido?
I will be using the phone primarily in the GTA is the coverage good? What
areas are weak and how far does their coverage extend in Southern Ontario?
I know Fido was having financial problems awhile back has that situation
been resolved, will they be around for the foreseeable future?
Thanks

In the GTA you should see about the same coverage, there are some areas
where I've seen Fido lacking coverage, and there are other areas where I've
seen Rogers lacking, on the whole they are pretty much equal.

That depends on where you are. In my case Fido had no coverage at all in
the building I work in while Rogers did, so for me the coverage wasn't good.
For you it might be great.

If you are thinking of leaving the GTA and golden horseshoe forget Fido,
their coverage is only in urban areas.

The banks control them now, they should be around for a while. TTYL

Phone should be the same.

There seems to be consensus that Fido coverage , where it has coverage, is
better quality than AT&T. But no network is perfect.
You can check Steve Punter's most excellent site to have some idea of how far
antennas would be from your desired coverage areas.

Fido is financially sound now that its debts were wiped out, but with banks in
control, they will demand sound, conservative management to insure they get
some of their money back.
My opinion is that this will translate into very little coverage expansion,
but they will work on existing areas to increase quality/capacity. And we
won't see incredible deals to attract new fickle customers who may not stay
very long.
