The website says Airtime charges apply for message retrieval only. When I get a
voicemail i check the balance and 1 minute has been deducted, when I retrieve a
message from a landline no time is deducted, the website might be backwards.

The primary pre-paid system deducts airtime for the call forwarded to voicemail, but
within about an hour another (seperate) subsystem credits the airtime back to you. I don't
know why they do it this way, but the net result is zero cost for message deposits.

Check again after a few minutes. It sometimes takes Fido's system a few
minutes to realize that the call was forwarded to voicemail, the money will
return.
