I spent time researching a new, inexpensive, quality phone for my parents,
and associated plan, from Verizon, Cingular, and Tmobile. I narrowed it
down to Cingular and Tmobile (though I am a VZW fan at the moment) simply
because I thought Cing or TM has better options for them. I narrowed
down the phone and plan from Cing, called Cing cust svs, asked if I could
combine the phone I liked with the plan I liked (pay as you go - Go phone
from ATTWS). The sales person (local to my area) said the phone was on
Cing, and their computer was on ATTWS, so they couldn't do anything for
me.
I hung up in disgust and went to TMobile. I found what I wanted their
(better phone and deal), sent the info to my parents, and they
successfully ordered their new phone.
Has anyone else experienced problems like this with Cing/ATTWS?
At least my parents can now gain the advantage of a good company, lower
prices, and the ability to roam on ATT/Cing without having anything else
to do with Cing/ATT.

Scott,
Yes, this is the situation in Denver. The stores still say AT&T outside,
Cingular on all the signs inside, but the plans are a hodgepodge, and all
pre-paids are AT&T. I asked about KIC and they had no clue. I had to get
an account set up in California. This will change, but it's gonna be a long
transition.
