The best phone I ever owned was my Ericsson t-39. But (1) it seems to have
developed power issues; and (2) it's starting to freeze up from time to
time, requiring a hard reset (by taking out the battery).
Does anyone know of a similar phone in terms of ease of use and form facter?
Many thanks.

I agree, they're one of the best feature wise and I've never had
problems with mine. If you need a non nonsense phone they're a good
choice. You can find them quite cheap new/refurbished on ebay.

Hi
I also have a T39m which I enjoyed using while it worked properly. It has
developed the well-known - "no network" bug.
I am wondering if this can be repaired and if this is worth doing and what a
good repalcement would be. I am looking for a simple, compact and RELIABLE
phone with good reception -- no need for camera, color screen etc.
TIA
Harold
