I have a friend in Italy that uses Vodafone as their carrier.  I have
VerizonWireless in the USA.  We have been able to send text messages
back and forth with no problems.  Since I have recently been traveling
to Europe fairly often, I needed a world phone.  I selected a T-Mobile
plan and phone.  I can no longer send text messages to her, but can
recieve them.

Is there a way I can send her text messages, mobile to mobile, bewteen
these 2 services??

You should be able to.  Have you:
tried replying to her text messages?
called T-Mobile support?

Maybe they don't support outgoing sms on your plan?

T-Mobile need to have a international sms agreement with the carrier
you are sendng to and you must have the correct message centre number
for your carrier stored in the message setting menu on your phones
sim.If you are able to sms locally you more than likely, do have the
correct message centre number stored.

I would check with T-Mobile CS to see what the problem is. You might
need to call a couple of different reps until you find one that
understands your problem and international sms agreements for
individual carriers overseas.

Thanks!

I switched to Cingular and all problems solved!  A little more
expensive, but the service seems a little more advanced.

but pay attention. The problem is inside Vodafone Italy... in fact our
Vodafone has a bad international policy and wants an extra-fee for
incoming sms, extra-fee that T-Mobile maybe doesn't want to pay.

For incoming sms from abroad Vodafone is the worst italian carrier :(
