I am buying an unlocked Motorola V360; I will get it any day now.
My laptop came with bluetooth. I am hoping to use my phone+laptop
to access internet in a foreign country. Would I need any additional
software? Is there a place to download the necessary software for V360?

I checked e-bay, I could buy the cable and the CD for about $20;Rogers
selling it for $50. I was going to buy a samsung phone, but changed my
mind since the V360 has both EDGE and  bluetooh.

If I insert my FIDO SIM card, the new unlocked phone will not be locked
into FIDO, will it?

Thanks in advance,

I am in Canada; only Rogers and Fido provide GSM service,I think.

Well it probably would be in Canada;  outside Canada would depend on
roaming agreements FIDO have with other carriers.  Also if you and
FIDO have roaming authorised.

See http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/roa_cami.shtml for a list
of FIDO roaming partners and countries.

As for accessing the Internet in some foreign country (presumably with
your FIDO sim card);  I could not imagine anything more expensive!

Sorry, I was not clear. I want to test my new unlocked phone (Motorola
V360)in Canada, with my current phone (locked to Fido motorola
V60i)prepaid SIM card; I am just wondering whether the new phone will
become locked to Fido. Oh, yes international roaming charges are
outrageous; I am buying a prepaid SIM card in the country that I am
visiting.

No.

No.

You will need to be sure:
1. The phone is configured properly for any data service you want to use.
2. Your account is enabled for data service in the country you are in.
