I'm here in the Netherlands and just got a Vodafone NL pre-paid SIM
card. I also have a calling card "Mobile Caller" that has a local NL
number 0800-02*****. The calling card works fine from my hotel phone,
but I get a call failed message when I try it on the Vodafone mobile.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Todd K.

This is typical of European carriers that BLOCK 800 #s of such carriers.
I have the same experience in Germany with T-Mobile. It is SAID that
some toll free #s work.
The ATT Direct # is 0800-022-9111 if you have an ATT calling card.
There are other options:
1. A local land line # which you can call relatively cheaply; see
www.enjoyprepaid.com for example.
2. A callback service such as www.callbackworld.com or enlinea
3. Local calling cards might have 800 numbers that are NOT blocked.
The German enjoyprepaid 800 number was blocked on German T-Mobile, for
instance. I believe I purchased a local calling card in Germany that
could be used from the cell phone with a toll free number. There must
be call shops in NL and they can advise you.
Good luck.
