any good reading material or link for E1/T1 interfaces

Hi all,
I just needed some good reading material or links to understand
E1/T1 and other such
type of trunks. Although I am saying "to understand" but that doesn't
restrict the scope to the "basics". And also if you could point to
something about backhaul technologies.
