T-mobil sent me the unlock code for my V330. The instructions say I
need to put in the "foreign" sim to do the unlock. I don't have that
yet.. Can I still do the unlock now?

This might work with some models:

From the T-Mobile sunsidy password entry instructions for Motorola
  phones:

If the display does not read "Enter Special code":
     1. Press and hold the * key until an entry box is displayed, then let go
     2. Enter *, #, 3, 2, # and press "OK"
     3. Enter the unlock code and press "OK." The display should read
     "Completed" or "Deleted"

I just want to mention that, in cae you are not aware, "foreign sim" ca
be anysim that's not tmobile's. So, Cingular/AT&T or any other sim car
will do. The sim does not have to tb an actiavted sim either. So, i
you know someone with another provider, you can borrow their sim. OTOH
you can walk into a Cingular store and see if they can borrow you
sim.
