I recently purchased a SGH-A707 cell phone off eBay. It came with an
unregistered 3G Cingular SIM card. I poped in my old non-3G Motorola
Razr V3 SIM, Installed Samsung's PC Studio 3 software (free D/L from
Samsung's site) and connected via Bluetooth both on my laptop (Toshiba
BT stack) and desktop (Blue Soleil BT stack) to the internet. Upload /
Dowload speeds (as measured on SBC Yahoo! DSL Speed Test site) were
~356 Kbps both ways! Looks like I'm getting 3G speeds from a non-3G
SIM (with the 'old' Razr V3 speeds were typical dial-up). This is one
great phone! MP3 / WMA stereo capability, 2 Gig storage via microSD
card , wireless stereo BT (AD2P) using my Motorola HT820 headset. I
think I've found the perfect - at least for now - wireless solution
for me.

Considering I'm cheating (using my laptop via MediaNET unlimited $20
per month plan - a no-no), I'm not going to raise any issues with
them... ;-)
