How furiously are you sending GPRS packets?

Have you got BT visibility set to "off"?
Are you not able to charge the phone in situ, given that the
bottom connector is free?

I would have thought BT, but I don't know for certain.

Hi !!!
BT uses a lot of battery. It has to check all the time
if there is anything to connect to in the neighbourhood.
Cable just sits there using nothing :-)
I use a lot of GPRS/laptop (about 100MB/month) with my
phone and to save battery, I shut off BT on the phone
after use.
cheers,

I'm not seeing poor battery life on my S55 with BT activated
constantly. I'm getting several days from the battery, but I'm
not using GPRS. I don't get anything like this run time with
serial cable attached. As an RS232 DCE device, the phone has to
keep voltages (whether mark or space) up on the RX, CTS, DCD and
DSR lines. So electrically, it doesn't just sit there doing
nothing when a data cable's attached.
I have BT "visibility to others" turned off. This doesn't impede
its interactions with already-paired devices (headset and PC in
my case). It's obviously listening for session requests. But
presumably it's not broadcasting its presence, or responding to
any unknown devices.
