Hi Mark,
Could it be that you have forgotten to add the semicolon at the end of the
dial string?
If you just send ATD12345 then you do a data call, if you send ATD12345;
then you do a voice call.
If this does not help then send the command AT+CEER right after you have
received NO CARRIER and tell me the response.
Regards
Peter

Hi Peter,
Thank you for your advise. It was very helpful.
Now I can establish a voice call from the Hyperterminal using the
semicolon. The only problem is that Windows Dialer or any other
application using TAPI won't accept the semicolon returning an
"invalid number" error. Do you know of any other way to initialize the
modem for voice calls only?
Best Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Unfortunately I am not very familiar with TAPI.
All I can recommend is to use the Regedit and search for "Dialsuffix" and
enter the semicolon there.
Hopefully the driver will add it then automatically to the dialed number.

Peter
