Just picked up a Nokia 3595 from t-mobile. Nice little unit, and it was
free... (kind of).

Anyway, the rep at the TM store said it was single band, 1.9 ghz.
However, I just looked through the instuction manual and it said dual
band, 850/1900.

Anyone know for sure? Any possibility the US version through TM is
crippled? Thanks

TM's is only 1900 - ATT's is 850 & 1900 they both use the exact same user
manual in the box.  Hope this helps.

Thanks. I hate it when the manufacturers do a software cripple like
that... I'm familiar with M*t*r**a pulling that on their radios...

Fortunately it's not a major issue with me - but it would have been a
slight safety ("911") advantage in a couple of places.

thanks again.

As I understand it, the 850mhz band is in fact there -- so you should be
able to call 911 in an AT&T or Cingular GSM850 area.  I haven't not verified
this myself however.

Wrong. It's 850 &1900. I've seen them with Cingular on the screen and this
is a 850 area for Cingular.
