I've got an S46 which won't make calls on ATT's TDMA network; it works fine
in GSM.
I have a multiband plan and after an hour of programming and reprogramming
ATT decided that there is something wrong with the phone and not their
network. They say there is a "ESN mismatch" but they won't explain what that
means. I get an error that says "Message PR237. Welcome to AT*T..." whenever
I try to dial-out.
Is it the phone or ATT?

it is a need for long programming (manual)... takes about 3 minutes...the
activation sequence didnt go thru correctly... you gotta call customer
care... a common problem with thew s 46...once fixed ...its fixed

My TDMA is rusty, but I'll give this a try.
Each phone is identified by two numbers, an ESN (Electronic Serial Number)
and a MIN (Mobile Identification Number).
The ESN is the serial number of the hardware of the phone. The MIN is the
telephone number assigned to the unit.
The ESN and MIN should be matched in AT&T's database. If there is a
mis-match, it seems to me that the problem is on their end and they should
be able to fix it.
