i work 6 months in Italy, 6 in the USA. I would like a triband,
bluetooth phone that will support both networks, and allow me to swap
my SIM cards depending on where i am. I think it would be cheaper to
get this phone in the USA, but i do not want it locked to a provider.
WHat are my options? Which phone should i consider? Where can i get
it?

Get yourself an ME45 by Siemens. It's the best:) Comes with data cable
and can do GPRS aswell. To be found on eBay (unlocked, usually) or at
provider's street shops (locked). You'll have to get yourself the necessary
software to un-bugger it (easy)

That siemens wont work in the USA! u need an triple band
