Is there a way to avoid powering off and powering on Motorola V300 to use GoMadic ComCube?

Hi. I am helping someone with his GoMadic ComCube cable, Motorola V300
(T-Mobile), and Tungensten C/laptop. Sometimes the cellular phone must
be powered off and on before using. According to
http://www.gomatic.com/support-cc.htm#6.17 ... it says, "Power cycling
the phone, resets the internal modem to the default settings and will
often resolve many connectivity issues."

Is there a way to avoid this because it takes too long (about a
minute) to complete. Thank you in advance. :)

Anyone? GoMadic said this shouldn't happen often. How about you guys
with this phone or similar with laptops, PDAs, etc.?
