I just replaced my StarTac 7868W with another one... same model, same
firmware, same PRL, but the phones act a bit different.  Most notably,
when I do a *228 to update my PRL (Verizon), the new phone says
"Updating" and beeps when done.  The old phone didn't do that, but
just went about it's process.

It's not a problem, but I'm kind of a 7868 junkie, and was curious as
to why they're different with the same firware.  Any ideas?

It sounds like your old phone was a 7868 and the new one is 7868W. I have
one of each and that is what happens when I do a *228 update. I have had
both phones for several years and that is the only noticeable difference
that I have noticed.

Thanks for the reply... good guess, but no such luck.  Just looked at
the sticker underneath the battery and they both say 7868W.
