I also thought I was having battery troubles on my v400, but it turns out
that I really have to make sure I'm charging the battery when I plug it in
to the charger (wait for it to say "charging"). Sometimes it makes a
connection and powers the phone, but doesn't charge the battery. For a
while I was getting only a few minutes on the battery before the phone said
"low battery" and thought for sure it was a defective phone or battery. Now
that I'm making sure the charging is working I'm consistently getting about
36 hours standby.

But the problem is this...according to the specs on the phone, 36 hours is
ridiculously low. It says 175 hours!!!!
So what is the problem?
I don't want a phone that dies after a day and a half of being on and then
just 6 minutes of phone calls, when I should get 5-6 days standby.

Dave-
Now that I've re-read my post I should have said anywhere from 72-96 hours
since I usually go for about 3-4 days continuously without charging (and
there are 24 hours, not 12 in a day!) but that's still a long way from the
spec 175.
