V600 - adding new Contacts query??

I've just started adding contacts on to my new Orange V600.

When inputting a new contact and then adding the number as 'Home' for
example it then says in the instruction book to scroll to 'More' to add
further numbers/email addresses for that same person. However, when I input
the new numbers etc. for the same person it seems to set up separate entries
in the phone book for each number. (Each entry is being stored to the phone
rather than the Sim by the way).

Is there a way of just having one entry in the phonebook per person so I
could select it and then scroll through a list of numbers for them and
select from there which to dial?? It just seems that i'm going to end up
with 100's of entries in the Contacts list, 1 for each number. Is there a
setting somewhere to enable this?

I'd appreciate some help!

Think of the top middle key (with the horizontal lines) as right clicking
with your mouse. It brings up a context sensitive menu. Whilst in the
phonebook press it and from the list of options choose setup. The third
option in the next menu is 'view'. Press the right soft key and select
'primary contacts'. Now you'll only see one entry per person, and it will be
the one you have set as primary for that person. By default, it's the first
entry you typed in, but can be changed by using the 'set primary' menu
option, which is available by pressing the top middle key whilst in the
phonebook. To see non primary entries for a person, highlight the person in
the phonebook, press 'view' to see the primary entry, then the down arrow to
see other entries.

This lloks like the problem I'm having with syncing using MPT where
all the e-mail addy's are going in as separate entries unlike Nokias
and Ericssons. Also MPT doesn't complete the sync process meaning over
half the contacts I need aren't in the phone.

And why should we need to buy the sync software when spending so much
on a phone? especially as other manufacturers seem to be able to
supply it free?

My first Motorola and from first impressions it's going back soon. Any
good reasons I should change my mind?

If it isn't capable of doing what my current phone does ie sync
properly with PC and PDA then it doesn't work great and is of limited
use.
I might take issue on the other points but as I have already decided
not to keep the phone I won't bother.
