I have v300 and i want to connect it to comp. I bought a cable that is
compatible with v720 and i installed mpt 1.23 and updated it to 2.20, it did
not work (sometimes it would, for a moment, get connected, but it immediatly
disconnected). I checked cable, i even opened it and reconnected with
schematic to be sure, but it still won't connect with my phone. Does anybody
have any pointers?
btw I'm on XP pro if it matters.

I am in the same exact boat. The clock starts spinning and it can't find my
phone although my computer sees it. I gave up on it it after a few days of
messing with it. I might try a serial port cable instead of a usb in the
future. My cable doesn't say it's compatible with the v300 but it fits it
perfectly, so it could be the cable but who knows. Just pisses me off!

I wish some of you guys would not top post and leave some of the original
text, anyway I gather you cannot get MPT to work on your PC, which is a
symptom I had to start with, I narrowed it down to MPT will not work with
the 1st edition of W98.
As it happened I needed a new machine which has XP loaded on it, MPT works
fine, not instantly but does work.

That's not the prob, maybe for you. The last sentence in my original post
says 'i'm on XP pro'.
It's not something easy to solve because i would not post if i had not tried
every option. Now, i want to know if there are any pointers like, 'pins are
crossconnected' or 'there are these settings to modify'...
Some pointers please, it can't be that im the only one with this problem!

Perhaps it did!, but I didn't see it due to top posting and total snipping
of the original post.
