I am in California and cannot seem to find a Motorola V60S. Has this phone
been discontinued? All of the Verizon stores that I have called do not have
this phone and have advised me to either order it from Verizon, get one from
a Verizon reseller, or get one from Ebay. Why is it so difficult to get this
phone?
Thanks for taking the time to answer this question. If you have one of these
phones, I am in Laguna Niguel California and would like to pick it up today
or tomorrow.

This phone has discontinued.
There is still stock, but you must order on-line. If you pester them enough,
by phone and e-mail, you may get lucky. They allowed me to order one
yesterday, by phone, via an unpublished toll-free number direct to some sort
of senior customer service person. This was after I complained via e-mail,
and had gotten nowhere with customer service. I had already received another
one with an on-line upgrade, a week earlier.
You only have a day or two to try to get one, as they are almost sold out,
and they will not be getting any more. Verizon is very diligent about
discontinuing the most popular handsets.
Be careful of eBay scams. Where are these sellers getting the V60s? The
phones are going for very high prices on eBay, and as the shortage
intensifies, things will only get worse.'

Steven,
Thanks for the reply. Since the V60S has been discontinued, what new
Motorola Phone will replace it and when will it be available?
Thanks,

There is no reason to believe that anything will replace it. Verizon had no
Motorola speakerphone for over a year after the famous 270C was
discontinued. The V60s was kind of an accidental phone, brought to the
market due to the business failure of Verizon's PTT service. I think that
Verizon committed to a large quantity of the V60p, and when their PTT
service failed to take off they had Motorola flash in firmware to create a
non-PTT version of the phone, the V60s. Verizon probably had no idea that
there would be such a demand for a plain, non-color, non-camera phone (or
they didn't want there to be a demand for it). Verizon is the most clueless
wireless company in the U.S. when it comes to handsets. For all of Sprint's
faults, Sprint consistently has a better handset selection. Look at all the
business Sprint got simply because they have the Treo, and Verizon doesn't.

I don't know if the phone is discontinued or not, but I just got one last week. I had it sent directly to my home via a
Verizon Wireles Customer Rep. I also found that a number of sites offer the phone as a result of a google search.
There must be a large stock to still be available 5 months from the original post.
