I'm trying to find a full user manual for MPT to verify
functionality.  For Datapilot you can assign a category to entries
that you want to export to the phone.  For MPT to be useful it should
have similar functionality.

I'm trying to find a user manual for MPT.  All I can find online so
far is a quick reference guide.

   TrueSync allows you to snyc whatever Outlook category or folder you
wish. I add a category for the contacts that I sync with the business phone,
another category for the ones for the personal phone and a third one for the
contacts that go to both phones. I then establish a client profile for each
phone and have it setup to sync the appropriate contacts to the desired
phone. I find it easiest to copy the desired contacts to a new contacts
folder, one for each phone. This helps guarantee that I don't muck up my
original contacts in the event of a brain fade, such as letting the phone
overwrite Outlook. I also sync most of the phones for my department in the
same manner.

   If you use Outlook but still want to use a different package to handle
the phone's phone book, you can probably use categories to export the
contacts in a form the other software can read. I used  to do that with an
Audiovox and a Kyocera when we had those.

   The hassle with TrueSync is having the right version. Motorola doesn't
make it easy to find and upgrade versions. They are not very astute about
this. I also can't understand why they won't bother to write a signed driver
for the phones to use with XP. Guess they are too puny a company to manage
something so complex.
