Hello,

I've had my Cingular V400 for a couple of weeks and all of a sudden
this weekend an icon which the manual says is "GPRS" appeard on the
display and will not go away.

Any idea why it would have just appeared and what it means?

Thanks,
David

when stuff like that happens, its so much easier to dial 611 and just ask
your cellular provider.
Why wait to find a pc, ask the question and wait for the answer?

But I will tell you. GPRS just means you phone is connected via packet data.
So if you use the web access or send a picture, it goes packet switched via
circuit switched.  Most of the time faster.
