Are either of these actually available yet? I don't think here in the U.S.,
I haven't seen them anywhere. Are they available in the UK?

Not yet available in the USA. I just looked at the page of phones of
motorola USA, and it was not there for any carrier.

I wonder why phones take longer to be available in the USA, even in this
case when it is from a US company, Motorola. Longer time to get approved by
the FCC? I wonder why?

How do people like the v600?

I have a V600, SWMBO has a V500, personally I think the V600 is the better
phone...

i just got the v600 on contract and as much as i hate to admit it I lik
it alot better than the e700 the only downside is the back cover feel
a little  tacky and the predictive text is a bit strange. but I guess
need to read the manual more... having too much fun with all the othe
stuff on it right now. bought a data cable for ?27 and have been usin
it very successfully with the phone. Now all i have to do is find
site that supplies free mp3 ring tones ;)............ well why but the
when you can load them via data. I still feel it has  a nicer feel tha
the v500

Many features of the predictive text are poorly documented even in
Moto's own manual. Once you know all the things it can do, the
predictive text is much better than T9. I came from a T9 phone to the
V500 and I won't be going back.

I'd have to agree. The V600 does everything the V525 does plus more. Looks a
bit more professional too.

The predictive text is really impressive once you get to grips with it (very
easy) and is much better than T9.
