For comment or opinion oinly.

I have been lumbered with Nokia for many years and was very pleased to
hear about he arrival of my new phone (V525) ..

It would have a camera and a colour screen etc etc etc

But I have to face facts that, if I want to do half of the "really"
usefull things with it, I have to buys software, download patches,
ignore tthe manual, search newsgroups....

Motorola?

Too much hassle....

The Motorola/Nokia thing has been going on for years. Sort of like
pilots talking about high wing vs. low wing. It generally depends on
what you started out with.  I've had Moto phones since long before Nokia
arrived in the US so I'm used to their menus. I once tried a Nok and it
drove me nuts. One's not really better than the other, it's just what
you get used to.

Check out MPX200 Smartphone - Its likely nokia will never use MS OS & will therefore fail (like apple)
Sorry, but its true!

check out MOTOs soon to be release MPX and MPX100 - nokia cant touch these

ps, I play gameboy advance emu on my MOTO smartphone - try that on a nokia

there WILL BE one clear winner - it isn't nokia - I'd put money on it!

Hmmmm  Nicely spelt out!!

Apart from the spelling bit.

Just made me chuckle a bit - by the way I'm on my first ever Motorola phone
and the jury is still out.

You'll really appreciate Motorola the first time you drop your phone off
a ladder onto a concrete floor. They build solid phones that may not
have every bell and whistle but the radios are good and build quality is
solid. My new v600 even seems to be state of the art in the bells &
whisltes dept.!

OK, I'll bite. Nobody would WANT to drop it off a ladder but it
happens - but I suspect that you already know that. Tradespeople do it
all the time. It's no less safe than using it in a car. How about just
falling out of one's hands in a garage? The point I was making is simply
that Moto phones are sturdy and can withstand more punishment than most
other brands.

My first mobile was a motorola and it was just a brick!  Decided I'd never
use one again, been using nokia's since (apart from a brief foray into
ericsson's, ugh!).  But Orange offered  me a free upgrade and I took the
v500 and pleased to bits with it, can't say I've had any real trouble
adapting to the software.  But I am a techy geek ;)

The truth is that Motorola is for techy, visual mathematician people, and
Nokia for common, lazy, "i dont wanna learn" people:-)
