Managed to get handset dirt-cheap although it is a re-furbished handset.
This is my second day of use.  Yesterday was a great day until the evening
when I realised I could not see my keypad anymore.  I checked everywhere,
even the handbook but nothing or no-one mentioned anywhere about the keypad
light.  I called India this morning and the nice lady told me that the
keypad should be lit.  Returned the handset today and luckily got one of two
that were left.  Made call to my uncle today.  A whole hour.  I am
impressed.  Admittedly the phone was plugged into the charger as it was
fresh out of its box.  But this is brilliant as my previous handset (dare I
admit to it) a NEC606 was absolutely CRAP.  And would have died on me after
5 minutes whether it was plugged in or not.  Back to my questions, Sorry!

My phone was on 2.5g and hung on for the hour as I said.  What is this?? I
thought there was 2g and 3g.

Would the phone have dropped the call if it had switched from 2.5g to 3g or
2g to 3g or have Three now overcome that problem.

I understand it is a Siemens phone, badge under Motorola.  I am accepting
this as truth as I have two Digital Siemens phone at home and they are the
absolute best.

Can I get this handset unlocked? Where? How much?

Is there a manual somewhere that actually tells you about the phone and its
services rather than the three handbook which tells me very little at all.

Any tricks or shortcuts?

Average Battery life?

What are the differences between the software versions?

Last. I know there are several groups OUT THERE but which is the most used
and most useful.  As some groups I have gone to only have about 13 members
and on others the last post was in January.

If the phone continues in this good form I may actually stay with Three when
my contract comes up for renewal in August and I may think about next month
going back up to my original tariff which I had downgraded from because I
could not get to use the free minutes allocated.

Many thanks

Correct, just little correction, it's called U15 and not V15. Made by
Motorola for Siemens.
