Hi All

Anyone know what sort of modem speeds can be reached with the v600 over a
bluetooth connection.
I currently have a Nokia 6310i and it will on reach 9.6kbps, looking for an
improvement.

thanks

Richard

Unless your network supports High Speed Circuit Switched Data, (and in the
UK that's Orange, Orange or errrm, Orange...) 9.6kbps is as fast as your
going to get over dial up. This is due to limitations in the GSM specs.
However most UK networks now support GPRS for data  which offers speeds of
*up to* about 43kbps. The Nokia 6310i supports both HSCSD and GPRS, the V600
supports GPRS but *not* HSCSD

I'm using mine with GPRS, and the improvement over my old GSM 9600 V50 is
great.  It feels rather like a land-line dial-up.
I don't get a connection speed indication from the task bar icon, since that
just shows the serial speed or blue-tooth speed, but it is very good over
GPRS.  Dial-up to a land line type modem still just goes at 9600, so I
wouldn't suggest you do that.

Pete.
