Instructions in book to copy all does not work.  The second time told
to press the Menu key does nothing.  I can copy one address at a
time, but that's way too painful.

I too, would like to know how to copy entire addressbook (or multiple
entries) from phone to SIM and vice versa.

I have a V400.  I saw no instructions anywhere on how to do this.

Also, is there any way to keep an entry on both, the SIM and the phone?

The V600 keeps both, and that's another problem.  In the phonebook
are both entries, the original from the phone, and the copied entry
in the SIM.

There's gotta be a way to display only one of them, but I can't find
it.

You are going to get duplicate entries.

Best way to back up phonebook is by using a PC and a BT dongle.

Works a treat........

Isn't there a way to view just the phonebook entries..?

My purpose is not for backup.  It's for renting a phone in Japan,
using my own SIM, and having my numbers with me.

On mine I go into the phonebook, go into the options, copy, then all to SIM.

I don't get that option.  What are the exact button pushes you use..?

Open up the phone book (to show list of names/numbers0

hit the middle soft key (menu)

Select 'Copy' (6th from bottom)

Then 'All to SIM'

Mind you, I dont know if it leaves all the entries on the phone as well, I
suspect it does, which may not be what you want.
But I'm not going to try it as I don't want all my phone numbers on my sim.

I do not get the choice "All to SIM," only the first entry in my
phonebook.

Perhaps you have a well botched version of the V600, cos even my Orange
edition has the coreect menu's to do this .

Sorry, can't really help any further then.

But at least you know now that other folk have a different menu system on
their V600's than you have on yours, and you are not going mad :-)

The Can't you get one of those cheap little keyring sized sim back-up
thingy's ? Then put all your contacts on that and move them between sim and
back-up device when you need the numbers on the sim to transfer it into a
different phone ?

That way you could keep all the numbers in the phone memory, which is better
as you can have voice dial and stuff associated with the numbers if they are
on the phone.

Thinking about it that probably wouldn't help as you cant get all your
numbers onto the sim in the first place. Doh, sorry.

He could of course get a version of Mobile phone tools, and lead or
bluetooth dongle.

Try Phonebook>>Settings(Middle button)>>"Copy Entries". From there be
prepared to enter the From:(Start)...From:(End)...To:(Start) and enter
the appropriate numbers for the SIM. For a single copy...Same thing
(Only "Copy Entry" but it only copies one number at a time. It's
pretty self explanatory once you get in the menus. Much easier to
execute than explain here. Good luck.

You'll still end up with duplicate entries.
