Motorola V600: mobile Phonetool/Multimedia Center Problem

Hello World,

I'd be eternally grateful if someone could help me with the following
small problem:

I bought a new V600, and the software package "mobile PhoneTool" with USB
cable which sells extra. Installed the software according to
instructions, and it finds the phone without problem, I can transfer
calendar and contact data.

However, the module "muldimedia center" which transfers sounds and images
won't work. When launching it I get an errow window which says

"The communication device is not available".

(Translation by me from the German version, the original English error
text might be different)

It's obviously nonsense, as other modules can communicate with the phone.
Something must be wrong with my setup of the software, or of my phone, or
it's a bug in the module (I hope not). Did anyone have similar problems
before and can give me hints on hunting down the cause?

Setup:

+ Window XP Home
+ mobile PhoneTool 2.0
+ Motorola V600
+ USB-link

Thanks in advance

Try to update mobile phont tools from v2.0 to 2.21f

It could solve the problem.

It might also do with the drivers..

This guide helped me when I first started to use cable w/ Vxxx phones
(I use V400, similar platform to V600)

http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=328182

Following that guide, I was able to ensure that all drivers were set
up correctly prior to installing mpt and connecting the phone.

Thanks for your help. I wanted to do that, but the old install suddenly
worked. You know what did it? I used another USB port. ....
