Low volume in a 551

My daughter's 551 has suddenly reduced the volume in the earpiece. The
speakerphone still seems to work OK and the ringer volume is unaffected.
This is the second Moto where this occurred. Her first was a V400. It was
replaced under Cigular insurance (with a $50 fee! didn't see that one
coming! Should have read the fine print).

Is this common? Any fixes?

Try blowing it out with one of those canned air "dusters" used for
keyboards. It's easy for dirt to accumulate there.  You can also try
editing the gains table to make it louder.
